How To Write A Book In 30 Days!

Thinking about writing a book? You’re probably like numerous others and said to yourself many times; “I should write a book!”  The truth is everybody has a book in them. But how many will actually GET MOTIVATED to sit down and write it? Unfortunately very few follow through. The number is so insignificant it’s not even worth mentioning. Although with the advent of P.O.D. (print on demand) companies that have arisen in the last five years it’s much easier to get published.

The question I receive most often when people see that I’ve written 3 books is “So how do I begin?” Well the truth would be to just begin ANYWHERE! But most people do not start because of the process is too over-whelming. There is too much information to think about accomplishing in a short period of time.

Below is a step-by-step process which I learned from a couple of successful self-publishing authors. One is Dan Poynter; he produced the best self-publishing manual in existence. His website is below under Resources or CLICK HERE to take you directly to his site. Another resource you’ll love is Create Space. It’s a new POD self-publishing company that Amazon purchased, a brilliant move to enhance their reach into book selling and authoring.

Step #1 – Your title is the MOST important element when creating your book. It must be catchy, an attention grabber and marketable! So send out your ideas to as many people as you can (trustworthy friends/family only). Register the domain name next. Really Cheap Names is my friend’s site and it’s easy to use. You don’t need to buy anything else when registering, BUT buy at least two years registration. Then you’ve got to decide on a standard formatting size for you book;  4.5" x 7",  5.5” x 8.5 ",   6" x 9",  and 8.5" x 11" so you know how to configure a Word Doc document to fit the size you require for writing, and printing  The area you are going to be writing in is called “Blue Lines”.

Step #2 – Set your deadline. When, what date do you want to have your book finished? Then set a certain amount of time daily you’re going to write; 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours, 1 day a week, 3 days a week, OR daily?

Step #3 – Develop your T.O.C. (table of contents) FIRST! Write out at least 15 – 25 chapters (unless you know already how many pages you want to accomplish.)  The reason for doing this is so we can break down each chapter into SUB-chapters. Like the Dummies series.

Step #4 – Now break down each chapter into 10 SUB-chapters! Once you do this you should have the entire amount of book pages. So let’s assume you have 25 chapters and 10 SUB-chapters for the entire TOC. You now will have 250 pages of written text in your book, COOL RIGHT? Now obviously you can have more or less, though now you have an exact number for your finished book. Example: if your working title is “How To Write A Book In 30 Days Or Less” One of your chapters could be;

1. Where To Begin (under this heading your SUB-chapters could be):
     A. Are you ready to write a book?
     B. How to set up your mental mind set.
     C. Create a warm inviting writing environment.
     D. Collect all your materials to write.
     E. etc., etc., etc.

This is the most crucial part in finishing your entire book. Only because if you do this first, you’ll have your entire book already written, then all you need to do is fill in each page with your content. Each page will represent ONE sub-chapter page, got it? IMPORTANT POINT:
It’s A LOT easier to write ONE page than it is to write 250 pages!

Step #5 – Here’s where your creative mind begins. Take ONE page and begin writing, any page. It doesn’t matter where you start now that you have your book blue-print developed. Actually, your entire book concept IS written, you now can go in and fill in all the blanks.  Choose the SUB-chapter topics that will be most fun for you first. You’re more apt to begin with something you want to write about and enjoy.

Step #6 – Once you have your finished AND edited the insides of your book you’ll need to design a book cover. I usually have my graphics designer do this. I don’t mess around when it comes to my book looking its best! My designer; Patrick O’Connell – www.317Studio.com My strategy to get moving is to have my cover designed and one printed copy of it in front of me before I begin even writing one single page. It gets me motivated!

Step #7 – Once finished with formatting of your book: the insides, cover and size dimensions, you’re ready to submit to CreateSpace.com. In fact, if it motivates you even a little you can open an account before you begin anything. ( I like to find easy ways to force me to finish on my deadline.) From here it’s an easy process and CreateSpace does all the work for you.
They’ll send you a proof of your book, an actual physical copy (SO COOL! )  of how they’ll print it out to your customers. Once you look it over, (edit it if need be), go back online to your account and Ok the proof. Once they have an Ok, your book will be up on Amazon.com usually within a week, and Barnes&Noble.com within a month.

Congratulations on reading this entire tutorial! If I can assist you in writing your book in any way please email me and let’s talk.

Here’s to your success, John

Stop Asking Me What Is NLP!

What is NLP really???

Wow, where do I begin with this question? With a question of course.  So let me ask YOU this first. What do YOU know, have heard and think it is? I’m sure if this is your first read about NLP you’ve heard about NLP through one of the following sources; a sales training, communication class, seminar leader/speaker, or even Tony Robbins. I’m sure you were SO curious about what it was, you went on a life quest to find out what it truly is. Am I right?  ;-) Well let me help you be giving you MY explanation of what I've learned.

Although, this is exactly how I happened upon it, fascinated by the works of Tony Robbins way back in 1987. (Yes, decades ago) So I did go on a journey, more of self-discovery to uncover what this technology was all about.

The “WHY” people come to NLP are many; wanting to clear up emotional issues, become better sales people, wanting to achieve their goals, take their life to a higher level, or simply learn to get out of their own way. What-ever the reason you’re here I promise you if you stay committed and do some if not all of the exercises I give you you’ll find your life could possibly never remain the same. You’ll find yourself more emotionally in-control, the ability to make better decisions and discover a clear path to obtaining the things in life that bring you the most pleasure. All because of NLP!

So what is this miraculous discovery? Well, let me give you some definitions that you may have heard or found on the web.

NLP- an attitude and a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques.
Richard Bandler

NLP – Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay affects our body and behavior (programming). Robert Dilts

NLP – Neuro-Linguistic Programming is the practical science of detecting, evolving and using the conscious and unconscious thinking and behavioral patterns that we are constantly experiencing. Tim Hallbom

The Magic Of NLP

When we say, "the magic," it’s simply the highest and best of human experiences, "excellence" in human functioning. In NLP, we say, the magic has structure. Above and beyond the details and content of any experience– there are frames and processes that explains how we operate. And when you know what and how that is, you’ll begin to unlock the secret of BEING, HAVING & DOING excellence in the human condition. So can this be magic?

Yes, the magic of getting creating everyday excellence, getting over fears, eliminating the past hurts, the magic of building a compelling future and the amazing ability to make it all happen, to live your life with joy, abundance and happiness.

We use the term "magic" in NLP to speak about the very structure and experience of excellence. So when anybody does something in a superb and wonderful way– from learning, decision making, getting motivated, being resilient, operating proactively, managing, making wealth, selling, etc., we know that that experience has structure and that we can learn and replicate that magic.

So, WHAT does NLP stand for? Neuro-Linguistic Programming. At first glance it looks very confusing even a bewildering phrase. Though it simply means;

Neuro – It means that we have a mind-body system that we can program, and has been programmed, much in the way we can program and re-program computer software. This mind-body system or our neurology is made up of our nervous system(s) that enable us to breathe, eat, think, live and function daily.

Linguistics, the manner in which we communicate to ourselves and others. The symbols, verbal and non-verbal systems that we use to operate our neurology.

When you combine the mind-body together; the linguistics of our neurology, we now have a spectacular human bio-computer. And the best part about it is it's completely programmable.

Programming, the programs or strategies we run to consistently produce results through-out our day. Though some of our programs are hard-wired from the moment of conception, we have the ability to program and re-program our software/neurology.

So what does all this have to do with me you may be asking?

Well, what if you have an antiquated mental program which you run that you’d like to change or eliminate? Some kind of phobia or fear of some sort, a bad habit, or a past event that haunts you. On the flip-side what if you have a great strategy for developing relationships, or learning, staying fit and healthy, creating financial abundance for yourself and others, wouldn’t this be something you’d like to replicate, enhance or even teach others?

The ability to CHANGE or ENHANCE our neurology, daily functioning or habits has always been a source of pain for man, and woman. ;-)  Because our bodies operate from a PAIN / PLEASURE principle, we are consistently looking out for what can harm us; the body! So we are more apt to AVIOID situations that could provide opportunity, (which may bring pain) rather than move TOWARDS them to obtain pleasure or reward.

That being said, NLP allows us the opportunity to CHANGE or ENHANCE or even ADD programs into our neurology. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to simply alter the way you do things to produce a different result? A result more pleasing, pleasurable or rewarding? Of course it would!

NLP is a MODEL of human functioning

It takes a very different attitude from some of the old psychologies. In NLP, we do not start from the assumptionthat people are broken. Not! Instead, we assume the complete opposite, that people work perfectly. That its the programs we've learned that dont serve us. That we have all the resources that we need, and the only problem isn't with each of us but with what limiting programs we've learned as children.

Discovering NLP

A young college student was asked to work with Fritz Perls editing his transcripts from live therapeutic sessions and then observing Virginia Satir. He found that he could mimic or model their sophisticated therapeutic skills to such a degree that he could replicate the same processes to produce the same results in a shorter period of time. This got the attention of a young college linguistics professor to help him figure it out and supervise a class where surprisingly they both were reproducing the same skills that were reserved for graduate therapy skills and professional therapists.

The How – If that sounds familiar and similar to other fields, it is. NLP is a branch of the Cognitive Sciences and Cognitive Behavioral Psychology. It grew out of General Semantics (Korzybski), Transformational Grammar (Noam Chomsky), Anthropology and Cybernetics (Bateson), Reframing (Watzalawick, et al.), Family Systems (Virginia Satir), Gestalt Therapy (Perls), Medical hypnosis (Milton Erickson), and several related studies. This is most of the respectable body of knowledge from which NLP arose.

This student (Richard Bandler) and the linguistic professor (Dr. John Grinder) teamed up to figure out, or model the magic of these therapeutic magicians. On the campus of the University of California at Santa Cruz, Richard Bandler used what he knew about mathematics, patterns and computers, where-as Dr. Grinder used what he knew about patterns in linguistics to create a model about the Perls and Satir model– a meta-model ("meta" is Greek for "above, beyond, and about).

Bandler's natural gift for mimicking enabled him to hear and replicate the language patterns by Virginia and Fritz. So he play acted with a group of students to see what he could do. After enjoying immediate and powerful results from this initial modeling, Richard and John set out to model the hypnotic skills of Milton Erickson. And it so happened that he and Dilts and others of the original group were taking classes from Gregory Bateson at the University who not only introduced them to Erickson, but to other influential persons.

Their first works they produced from their observations

The Structure of Magic, Volumes I and II. (1975, 1976) identified the verbal and behavioral patterns of therapists Fritz Perls (the creator of gestalt therapy) and Virginia Satir (internationally renowned family therapist). Soon after they were introduced to the foremost hypnotherapist of all time; Milton Erickson did they write about a fascinating modeling adventure with The Patterns of the Hypnotic Language of Erickson, Vol. I & II (1975, 1976) which examined the verbal and behavioral patterns of Milton Erickson,

Together, they built a communication model about human excellence. They used our human experiences of how we SEE images, HEAR sounds, FEEL feelings and tactile responses, SMELLS and TASTES inside our mind to represent “the structure” of subjective experiences we call LIVING LIFE!

Through the years, NLP has gone on to develop some very powerful tools and skills for communication and change in a wide range of professional areas such as; counseling, psychotherapy, education, leadership, health, creativity, law, management, sales, parenting, even politics!

All of NLP was developed on two elementary presuppositions:

 1. The Map is Not the Territory. As human beings, we can never know reality. We can only know our perceptions of reality. We experience and respond to the world around us primarily through our sensory representational systems. It is our 'neuro-linguistic' maps of reality that determine how we behave and that give those behaviors meaning, not reality itself. It is generally not reality that limits us or empowers us, but rather our map of reality.

2. The Mind-Body are Systemic Processes. All of our processes take place within the human being in which we interact with other human beings within our environment are all systemic in nature. Our bodies, our communities, and the world we live in all form an “ecology” a complex systems all of which we interact with and mutually influence upon one another. It’s not possible to completely isolate any part of one system from the rest of any or all systems. Our systems are based on certain 'self-organizing' principles and naturally seek optimal states of balance or homeostasis.

All of the models and techniques of NLP are based on the combination of these two principles. In the belief system of NLP it is not possible for human beings to know our objective reality. There is no such thing as REAL. It’s only a matter of perception. Our understandings, knowledge, beliefs and ecology do not arise from having the 'right' or 'correct' map of the world. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ map, each of our own map only serves the one using it. And serves each correctly according to the systems we live in.

As human beings its not possible to create the ‘perfect’ map. Rather, the goal is to create the richest map possible that respects the systemic nature and ecology of ourselves, others and the world we live in. The people who are most successful at this are the ones who’s map of the world allows them the flexibility to become aware and utilize the most available choices and perspectives. NLP allows us to create choice where once we did not have it, and offers us the ability to gain new perspectives to shape and re-shape the world we live in.

NLP – Demise & Return Back to America!

NLP; The Demise And Return Back Into America!
Written by John James Santangelo C.Ht.

History by Michael Hall Ph.D.

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, NLP dominated America more than anywhere else in the world.  Once upon a time there were hundreds upon hundreds of training centers —several in every major city and half a dozen NLP Associations across the country.  Then there were numerous journals, practice groups, and the talk of NLP was everywhere.  But no longer.

Today there are a dozen or so centers left and all are much smaller versions of the former ones.  And today there are no Associations left nor are there any magazines or journals.  And if you are like most people when they hear this, they ask with astonishment, “What in the world happened?”

Also, once upon a time in southern California, NLP as a new model of human development arose that caught the attention of the field of psychology, psychotherapy, counseling, education, hypnotherapy, and many other fields.  And it was based on some solid researchers and world-class communicators— people like Bateson, Korzybski, Satir, Perls, Erickson, George Miller, Chomsky, etc.  And it thrived from the late 1970s through the 1980s.  Then the movement began hitting some snags.

So what happened?  Well, I think that the demise of NLP in the United States lies mostly in the hands of the very person who also did the most to create it—Richard Bandler.  At the same time, he offered a new way to think about and perceive human experiences he also seemed incredible skilled at creating  offense and disrespect for the model!  When I entered the field, his murder trial in San Diego was just beginning. [Yes, that was quite an introduction to the field!]  Prior to that was the lawsuit between him and Grinder; and after the murder trial, the lawsuit he filed against Tony Robbins.  Then there was all of the drugging with cocaine and heavy drinking and so on.

Yet what really created the demise of NLP in the U.S. was Richard’s 1996 lawsuit for 90,000,000 dollars against eight people and “200 John Does” (that’s legal language for people to be named to the lawsuit”), a lawsuit against the field of NLP.  And given his reputation for playing nasty or hardball, that lawsuit scared a lot of people.  Actually, it not only scared them, it scared the hell out of them so that scores of people began shutting down their training centers, they stopped using the letters “NLP” in their writings, presentations, businesses, and they distanced themselves more and more from the community (what was left of it).  As a strategy for ruining a movement, for torpedoing a field, for throwing cold water on fans of the model— it was very successful!  Of course, if you are wondering as I have heard so many wonder aloud and in writing, “Why would anyone in their right mind do that?” — well, that’s another question, and I can only guess at it.

The lawsuit was filed in 1996 and lasted till 2000 or 2001 when Bandler lost.  He was then assessed some $600,000 to be paid to Chris Hall (no relationship to me), NLP was declared in public domain, and he moved to Ireland.  Yet in the past eight or nine years, the field has been very, very slow to recover.  In fact, one of the strangest things now about the field of NLP— it is thriving and growing and doing very well almost everywhere in the world except the United States!  It is exploding in Russia and the former Soviet countries; it is thriving and exploding in China and throughout Asia.

This is not to say that everyone helping with the spread is presenting high quality NLP or being ethical in what they are doing.  Many are not.  In this, the buyer truly has to beware and has to ask many, many hard questions.  But that’s the subject of another article.

Regarding bringing NLP back to the United States, it does not seem to be arising from within.  There is some growth, but it is very small.   We probably need solid NLP trainers in England, Europe, Latin America, Canada, even Australia and that part of the world to bring it back and establish it on more solid grounds.  In fact, if you are a solid quality NLP trainer, there are dozens and dozens of major cities in the United States without any NLP training— cities of a million or more people and not a single training center.

And this is also true of Neuro-Semantics.  At this moment, we do not have a Neuro-Semantic Institute in the United States —Mexico, yes.  Canada, coming soon.  But in the United States— no.  Nothing.  Zip.  Zadda.  I would, but currently my relationship to the States is that I keep flying back home to pay taxes.  In terms of living, I mostly live everywhere else!

Why am I writing about this?  Because here is a true opportunity for lots of people and because most people around the world don’t know about this.  Here is an opportunity for someone, or several someones, for people in Europe, Asia, Latin America or elsewhere make it their mission to import NLP back to the United States.  What do you think?  The opportunities are immense.  With dozens of major cities with populations into the millions and with over 300 million across the country, the States offer a vast market.  Who has the business acumen to create Training Centers or Event Companies and bring a high quality, ethical, and commercially viable business model to the United States?  What Neuro-Semantic/NLP trainer will do that?

I train almost exclusively outside of the United States, but not by choice.  I do that because that is where NLP is growing and where Neuro-Semantics is exploding.  For myself, I would love to conduct the Meta-Coaching System on both coasts of the United States and a couple places in the middle, yet to do that, we need NLP trainers training NLP Practitioner and/or NLP Introduction courses.  There also need to be Neuro-Semantic trainers running APG workshops on Meta-States.

Now that NLP is “in the public domain” in the United States and in the UK, and now that nearly a decade has passed since all of the commotion of the lawsuits and the bad press of NLP, the time has come for there to be a resurgence of NLP in the US.  And now that the original hype and all of the new-age non-sense has passed, the time is ripe for a professional development of NLP and Neuro-Semantics in the US.  Those who know how to present NLP for business, for high quality communication, for modeling excellence and those who know how to present the higher ethical and professional standards of Neuro-Semantics and the vision of “walking the talk” —you have a wonderful opportunity.  People need it.  Who will rise up to take up the challenge?

How to Be a Great Salesman

by Vincent Alexander Chiofalo –

1.  Choose a good product, and price that sells it self. Expect the sale. Don't sell crap. Sell good quality products that you would want for yourself and your family. Make sure you have the edge on the competition with your price. More people are going to choose to pay less for the same thing when they can. When you have your bases covered here, you can expect to close every sale anytime you find someone with a buying attitude.

2. Develop a personality that sells itself. Personality is everything in sales. People don't want to buy from people they don't like or trust. They want to give their business to someone they like, and they feel deserve their business. Someone like them!

3. Create rapport with your customer. Study the craft and practice the art of "Mirror and Matching". By mirror and matching your customers physiology, tonality, and language, the customer feels a connection and senses that you understand them. This trust is the foundation for any meaningful communication between two people. Honor your customers trust by making their best interest your first priority. You cant sell anyone anything without this trust and rapport. You can let them buy, but you can't influence them into purchasing a product that you know is going to serve them better. If they don't feel connected, and trusting of you, then they are all on their own in the buying process, and you have no say in the matter.

4. Find out what your customer really wants and why they want it. Understand that people buy "things" as a means to an end. We dont buy cars, we buy to feel good about ourselves in the car we choose to drive. We don't buy printers, we buy to feel peace and harmony with electronics and good about the sound and educated decision we made. Allow your customer to lead early on in the phase when they are explaining what they want. "Well I want this…" "Why do you want that?" Have them point to the product that makes them feel good and ask them, what do you like about this one? Allow then to choose the product that they feel good about, getting to know your customer and their taste, and uncovering their real motivation for buying.

5. Be an expert in your field. Know everything there is to know about your product, and your competitors products, so that you can justify to your customer why your recommended product is the right one for them. If your not an expert in it, you cant really do your customer justice. This may take time to develop so early on when you first start working with a product, find a business associate who is an expert and allow them to mentor and teach you everything they know. Also do research on your own. Stay up and up on the latest and greatest in your field, and dont be afraid to change up your catalog, or even change jobs if it allows you to serve your customers the best of the best.

6. Once you have determined the best solution for your customer, link the product to their motivation for buying, and put it in their language. Now that you have uncovered your customers real motivation for buying, you want to link everything the customer said about what they want, to the product that is going to serve those needs the best. Pay close attention to your customers reaction (facial expressions and body language) as you pitch the product to them. Stay with them and if they show any resistance, ask them how they feel, and why they feel that way. Remember you are there to sell them whatever is going to make them feel really good about their purchase.

7. When overcoming your customers objections, use logical explanation, as a means to justify their emotional motivation. People like to think they make logical decisions that are rational, when in reality, every decision is based on emotion on the most fundamental level. So use the logical explanations on the surface to serve up the exact concoction of emotional motivation that they expressed they were looking for earlier on in the process.

8. Ask for the sale. This is the most overlooked and most forgotten step, probably because a lot of sales people dont have the confidence in their ability to help their customers that they really need to have in order to help their customer. KNOW in your heart that you have suggested the best item for your customer, then you will have no problem finishing up the sale with a light questions like "Would you like me to load this up in a shopping cart for you?" or "Would you like me to bring this up to the check out stand for you while you continue your shopping?"…

9. Sell the basket. After they give you the yes on the sale, ask them about all the add-ons to up your total ticket, and for their convenience. Remind them the benefit of convenience in buying these things now rather then later. "Your gonna need ink for your new printer, and paper too. How would you like to optimize your printers performance with a gold tip cable? etc…" Try and save them as much money in the process too by staying up on your companies sales and specials. Remember, treat every customer like you are selling to your mom, or sweet old grandma.

10. Follow up. If you really want to be a great salesman. Go the extra mile. Remember, or write down the names and contact info of your customers, and follow up with them to make sure they are 100% happy with their purchase. This is how you turn customers into raving fans. This is how you get referrals from your customers, and promotions from your employer.
Tips
    * Let your customer speak about what they want as much as you can get them to speak about what they want.
    * Listen to everything your customer says carefully, and listen to exactly how they say it. This is your fire power when presenting the product as a solution, and you want to present the solution back to them the same way they presented the need to you.
    * Don't ever try to sell something to someone just to make a quick buck if you don't believe it the best product for them.
    * Treat your customers like your selling your own mother. Care about them.
    * Always remember, you are here to SERVE and HELP your customer.
    * We don't want customers. We want raving fans!
    * Honesty is the best policy. Dont pretend to know something you dont. If you dont know, then FIND OUT!
Warnings
    * Don't be pushy.
    * Don't try and talk people in or out of anything. Your better off to say nothing at all.
    * Don't waste your time with someone who is not ready to buy. Its ok to spend time and work on a future sale, but its a waste of time if someone is standing in line and they want to buy today. Ask some qualifying questions to set the frame upfront like "Do you need it today?" "If we have exactly what you are looking for, will you be making your purchase today?"

17 SEO Tips Using NLP for Your Marketing Campaign

When you begin your SEO campaign, it can be difficult to separate myth from truth. It seems everyone has different ideas of what works and what doesn't, and even someone who's been in the business awhile can get confused as SEO trends, tactics, and techniques change over the years.

While there may be much discrepancy, these 17 tips for SEO are something most experts seem to agree on. Following these rules, you can avoid some common mistakes and launch a successful campaign.

1. Perform keyword research. This is a very important step in your SEO campaign, before you even begin. Thoroughly research all keywords you may want to use – this can make a huge difference in your strategy.

2. Don't use the same Metas for every page. All your Meta and Title Tags should be unique for each page. Also, make sure to use keywords and write an engaging title.

3. Don't try to deceive the search engines. Don't overuse keywords, hide text, or create doorway pages. These are unethical forms of SEO. With the current trend of search engines favoring ethical SEO, your best practice is to create a well-thought out web page, that has unique content, and is easy to navigate.

4. Avoid low quality links. Not all links are created equal. Instead of getting links from link farms, research the popularity of websites before getting links from them. Alexa ranks are a good way to check popularity, as well as page rank. However, if your own page rank is rather low, fret not, for this will be explained below.

5. Avoid using links with the same anchor text. Search engines do not like links that use the same anchor text and description that are repeated in short bursts.

6. Don't overdo reciprocal links. Reciprocal linking can be valuable, but only when done in small doses, and if the links are relevant to your business. Also, make sure to have a diverse set of links, including links to blogs, forums, articles, social media bookmarking, and more.

7. Don't become obsessed with page rank. Page rank is only a small part of your entire SEO campaign. The way pages are ranked is actually rather complicated, and is based on many factors. It is possible for a lower ranked page to actually be quite successful and get lots of visitors. So if your page rank is low, don't freak out.

8. Do network with other Website owners. This is a great way to learn, get advice, and exchange links. These relationships can be mutually beneficial.

9. Make site updates regularly. Sometimes, an out-of-date website can be worse than no website at all. Make sure you update regularly with current information, news and events, and fresh content. If you want to catch the eye of the search engine robots, regular updates are a great way.

10. Don't compete for single keywords. Instead, compete for keyword phrases. This will make it more likely that your site will show up as a relevant search result. For instance, if your company sells jewelry boxes, and you attempt to compete for the term "boxes," many people who find your site will be looking for cardboard boxes, hat boxes, and other types of boxes, and will likely not stay on your page once they realize you don't sell what they're looking for. If you compete for the phrase "jewelry boxes," it's more likely that potential customers who are looking strictly for jewelry boxes will find you.

11. Research your competition. It's always good to know what the competition is up to, including what they are doing on their website, where they are getting links, etc.

12. Design your Website to be SEO friendly. There is definitely an SEO strategy when it comes to website design. Avoid heavy Flash and lots of graphics, since search engine robots crawl the text, not images. Good Meta and Title Tags are a must, as well as fresh and engaging content. If you're hiring someone to design your website, look for someone who is an expert in organic SEO.

13. Use text links instead of images. If using JavaScript, text links are important since spiders won't follow JavaScript.

14. Keep localization in mind. There are several benefits to reaching out to the local audience. Aside from gaining local customers, including location-based keyword phrases, like "detriot auto body shop," will help you because you will have less competition for that keyword.

15. Don't ignore the power of content. Nothing drives a Website like good content. Make sure your content is engaging, original, and well researched. Use keywords strategically (so they fit in with the natural flow of text).

16. Always proofread. This step should be a given, yet it's not uncommon to see typos and content mistakes on web pages. Aside from providing incorrect information, mistakes, as well as typos, make a web page and its company look unprofessional.

And most importantly…

17. Don't Give Up! SEO is not accomplished overnight. It can be a long process and takes lots of work and sometimes trial and error. Keep up your effort and don't give up!

Are They’re Any Benefits to NLP?

Would You Like to Know What Those Benefits Are ?

Have you ever been stuck in a mental grid lock? Feeling trapped in your own mind?
How would you like to reboot your brain Right Now with the help of an NLP training?

NLP is the science of understanding the system of information processing by the brain. NLP reads out as Neuro Linguistic  Programming. The technique of NLP therefore helps to understand the interplay of neuro and linguistic communication skills. The human brain is made of tens of millions of neurons ,and these neurons can be programmed and reprogrammed accordingly with the help of a certified NLP practitioner and their techniques and principles.

NLP works on 2 fundamental principles. All NLP models work on the following two presuppositions:

1)      ‘Mind’ and life are systematic processes – This principle holds that all the processes that happen inside a human body, that take place amidst humans and the complete environment system are logical and methodical. One part of the system cannot be isolated from the other. So a tweak in one part of the system affects the entire system.

2)      Map is Not the Territory – By virtue of being one; humans tend to envisage only the perceptions of reality and not reality itself! The principle attempts to help a person distinguish between a menu and a meal. It helps a person to understand the thoughts and things the way they are. All in all, the technique aids a person to broaden the neuro-linguistic map.

NLP is both a science and an art. It attempts to put the gathered facts into practical application. Without this practical application, NLP training has no meaning. NLP is a way of self-discovery and thereby mastering one’s hidden negative attitudes and beliefs. The technique has worked like a blessing for zillions of people who underwent NLP training and succeeded in overcoming their fears and unexplained beliefs. The amazing techniques of NLP helped them to enrich their personal and professional relationships and to boost their level of confidence.

Neuro linguistic programming has its roots in hypnosis. Hypnosis NLP developed way earlier than the present day NLP techniques. Basically NLP is a carefully designed way of thinking. An NLP practitioner attempts to improve the areas a person most fears, desires, hates or desists. On the whole, the wondrous technique of NLP improves the overall quality of a person’s life.

NLP courses are usually delivered in such a way that they incorporate live anecdotes, success stories and first-hand experiments. The markets are flooded with books and journals on NLP. There are countless online sites that offer NLP practitioner training and home study courses free of cost. These free NLP self help tutorials help a person to understand both the conscious and unconscious human behaviors and master the art of NLP. The best way to understand coaching NLP fundamentals however, is through working in direct collaboration with a qualified NLP practitioner. There are many institutes also which conduct workshops and seminars on Neuro Linguistic Programming.

Coffee and Cancer Risk: Java Junkies Less Likely to Get Tumors, Study Says

Evidence is brewing that coffee can prevent cancer.

The latest study shows that java junkies are significantly less likely to develop head and neck cancer – and the more coffee consumed, the lower the risk. Those who drank four or more cups of coffee a day were a whopping 39 percent less likely to develop tumors, according to the American Association for Cancer Research, which publishes Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, the journal that published the study.

The study, which looked at pooled data from nine previous studies, didn’t answer the question of whether decaf had the same anticancer effect as caffeinated coffee. But it found no evidence that drinking tea affects the risk of head and neck cancer.

The study was associative, which means although researchers found a strong link between coffee drinking and reduced cancer risk, they can’t say for sure that it’s the coffee doing the trick.

“Since coffee is so widely used and there is a relatively high incidence and low survival rate of these forms of cancers, our results have important public health implications that need to be further addressed,” said Mia Hashibe, Ph.D., assistant professor in the department of family and preventive medicine at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and the lead author of the study.

This isn’t the first study to suggest that coffee has an anticancer effect.

Last December, Harvard University researchers presented data showing that coffee consumption lowers the risk of prostate cancer. Men who drank the most coffee were 60 percent less likely to get an aggressive form of the disease than men who didn’t drink coffee.

And English researchers recently published a study that found that brain tumors were less common in people who drank at least five cups of coffee or tea a day.

Does light or moderate coffee consumption lower the risk of head and neck cancer? “We didn’t see a clear association for the moderate drinkers,” Hashibe told Aol Health. “But coffee is a really compex set of chemicals. I wouldn’t recommend that everybody drink that much coffee.”

But if you do, at least you have something nice to think about as you struggle to fall asleep.

The Two Magic Powers – Frank Kern

The Two Magic Powers

by Frank Kern

Occasionally, the unthinkable occurs.  I run out of the trash-fiction that I like to read – and as a last resort, I pick up “emergency reading material” like Oprah Magazine. (My wife gets it. Not me! I swear! I only read manly stuff like “Liquor Soaked Brawler’s Digest”.)

And usually, like I do with all magazines, I just like to read the ads.  I was about 78 pages into it when, for some reason, I started reading an actual article about successful women.  And that’s when an amazing lady jumped out of the page at me.

Her name is Madam C.J. Walker and here she is:  And let me tell you, this lady could have … Kicked All Of Our Asses …Combined!

Here’s why:

First, the article in Oprah didn’t say much about her except that she became extremely successful selling hair products door-to-door.

All I can really remember is it had her picture and then it mentioned her success.

Now, being a former door-to-door man myself, I decided to check her out.

Here’s what I found:

First, she was born in Louisiana.

On a farm.

In 1865.

Not really an ideal time and place to be born if you’re:

A woman.

African American.

But she had plenty of additional challenges to face.

She was an orphan at age seven.

At age 14, she got married …reportedly to escape the abuse that she was suffering at the hands of her brother-in-law.

She became a mother at age 17, and a widow at age 20.

She supported herself and her daughter by picking cotton on a farm,

by being a laundress, and by working in a barber shop.

From what I can tell, the most she ever made during that time was $1.50 a day.

But It Got Worse

At around 25 years old, she began to develop a condition that caused her to start balding.

Can you imagine? As if she didn’t have enough to deal with …now the poor lady’s hair is falling out.

(And we whine when our cell phone drops a call every now and then… kind of embarrassing.)

Anyway …  Here’s Where It Gets Good

It shouldn’t surprise you that she quickly became a student of “how to fix this damned balding problem”.  In fact, she researched all kinds of treatments, and eventually discovered that sulfur could abolish the scalp disease that was causing people to lose their hair.

(Apparently, people lost their hair a lot back then because they didn’t bathe as much. They would get some nasty scalp infection and their hair would fall out. But if you treated the problem with sulfur, you could knock it out.)

So she did the only logical thing to do, which was to start her own business …selling a product called “Madam Walker’s Wonderful Hair Grower”. Keep in mind, she was just starting out and didn’t have a big budget (probably NO budget at all) so she had no choice but to …

Go Out, Grab The World By The Balls, And Bend It To Her Will!  And the first thing she did was to go door to door, selling her product.

Listen – nobody really embraces a door to door sales person with open arms these days, you know? But imagine what it must have been like for Madam Walker in the racist and male dominated environment she was working in back then.

…That took some cojones.

How many times do you think she was rejected?

How many doors do you think were slammed in her face?

How many insults did she hear?

I’m willing to bet she even was threatened …regularly.

But did that stop her?   Hell No!   Not only did she survive …she thrived.

Mrs Walker hung in there and sold more products, developed new ones, and finally opened up  a factory in Indianapolis. By 1913, she was traveling around the world training other women to sell her products.

…And by the time she died in 1919 at age 51, she had become The World’s First Female Self-Made Millionare! Against incredible odds, wouldn’t you say?   Man – what a story.

Did I mention that her parents were former slaves? I don’t think I did.

So her story is amazing, and I think her success is largely due to one critical characteristic:

The Amazing Ability To Get Off Of One’s Ass And Get To WORK.

Seems we have a lack of that ability these days.  Think about it.  The real secret to success is to get out there and work like hell.   And when we think about Madam C.J. Walker, it’s painfully obvious that …

We Have Absolutely NO Excuse For Failure

Actually – let me rephrase that.  In the beginning, failure is pretty much inevitable.

A first-time home run is about as rare as an honest politician.  Hell, I’ve been at this game for about 4,000 consecutive days. All day, every day – and almost everything I start takes a few tweaks before it works.  And some projects don’t work at all.  Such is life.

So yeah, failure is OK.   But here’s the thing,   You Have To Get Up, Brush Yourself Off, And Get Back In The Game  That is the magic power of the successful entrepreneur.   Actually, there are really only two magic powers that I’ve seen – and these are present in every successful person I’ve met, worked with/for, or studied.

Here they are:

Magic Power #1: The ability to get started.

Holy crap, this is a big one.  I just got back from two straight weekends of speaking and the biggest thing I saw plaguing the people who were struggling was the inability to get started. This really interested me so I tried to discover the hold ups.  People were stuck on trying to figure out what web host to use, what microphone to use, what email provider, and so forth.

And look – I’ve been there, and I was broke when I was there – so I can relate.

But here’s the deal.   Most of the time all the research, the preparation, the making sure everything is “perfect” …most of the time that’s secret code for    “I’m Scared!”

Scared it’s not gonna work.

Scared you’re gonna look stupid.

Scared you might lose some money.

Scared you’ll be judged

So let me help you out here and tell you right up front that …   All That Bad Stuff Is Almost GUARANTEED To Happen!    Your very first site is probably gonna look kinda terrible. (Mine still have that “made in 1998 look).   Your first sales letter is probably gonna need tweaking.

Google will probably “slap” your first ad campaign. And if they don’t, you’ll probably spend and “lose” a few bucks getting enough traffic to test your offer before you start making sales and profits.  Your square friends will almost certainly judge you and talk behind your back about what a fool you are for trying to make money on the Internet. At least one of them will believe you’ve fallen for a get-rich-quick scheme.

And since you’ll be putting yourself out there in the interwebz for the whole world to see …you’re probably going to look stupid to someone. (And if you don’t, you’re doing it wrong.)

So …that’s the way it is.

And since you know it’s all definitely going to happen (barring some miracle), you can finally stop worrying about it and just get it all out of the way! Better to go on ahead and power through it, you know? Hurry up so you can get to the good stuff. Like cramming down the vegetables when you were a kid so you could finally get dessert. (I still do this).

And once you do …you can practice

Magic Power #2: The Ability To Step Back Into The Ring

Business is like boxing in the sense that you will, without question, get knocked around a little.

Know what I mean?  And do you think there’s ever a conversation where a dude wants to become a boxer and this happens?

Dude: “Coach? Can I talk to you a minute?”

Coach: “Sure, son. What’s on your mind.”

Dude: “Well, I think I want to be a boxer.”

Coach: “That’s great. We can start training on Monday.”

Dude: “OK. But …Coach?”

Coach: “Yeah?”

Dude: “Do you think I’ll ever get …you know …hit? Like, do you think anyone is gonna …you know, punch me?”

Coach: “GET THE HELL OUT OF MY GYM!”

I know, I know …never happens. In BOXING.

But it damn sure happens in business. People get started (which is a huge feat in and of itself) and then just get floored by the first setback. It takes them by complete surprise and it makes them want to quit.  I suppose it’s natural.  But what’s not natural …and what really breeds success …is that ability to brush yourself off and start over.

Just like the champion boxer, you gotta get up and step back into the ring. If you do that enough times, you’ll be tough as a pit bull and you’ll start winning. And it doesn’t take too many wins before it all starts to add up. But man, if you don’t get back in there and take another shot …you’ll never win.  And listen: EVERYBODY I know who’s achieved lasting success has, often on more than one occasion, gotten the shit kicked out of them in business. Many have lost everything before they finally “made it”.   Damn sure happened to me, I can tell you that.

Here are some of the businesses I’ve effortlessly run straight into the ground (it’s a talent.):

1. Used Car Lot (the prestige!)

2. Underground Dog Fencing (don’t ask)

3. Roofing Contractor and Commercial Repair (even more prestige!)

4. Merchant Bank Card Processing (failed attempt at “legitimate” business)

…And of course, this is before I got online.

Once I got online, I was able to have my most spectacular failure to date …the dreaded Instant Internet Empires, which got the attention of the FTC and ultimately earned me a nice lawsuit which cost me everything I had.  Literally. Everything.

And you know what? All those failures SUCKED. They were embarrassing. And sometimes scary.

…Getting back up and stepping into the ring again was hard.   But worth it.  And if an orphaned daughter of former slaves can work her way up through the racist hardship of the economically depressed deep south …and become the world’s first self-made female millionaire …then what possible excuse do WE have?

Do you think it was easy for this lady to just walk outside and start going door to door? Hell no!

Do you think it was easy for her to keep going after hearing insults and rejections every day? Of course not.  But she did it anyway. Because that’s what it takes sometimes.  Now get out there and take what’s yours.
