Success is: Focus,Meaning,Action!

Hi All,

I hope you’re making your day one that you’ll remember... we create it all!

Here in Los Angeles it plummeted down to 39 degrees during the day. LOL 

I know, not funny if you live where it SNOWS for months,

but we actually had hail yesterday DURING THE DAY! HAIL…

Its really a big deal if you consider Los Angeles in only an hour away from the second hottest place on earth; the Mohave desert. And between these two places is Big Bear where it snowed, a whole 2 inches. YEAH BABY!  

It’s kinda boring I know, but for us its like Haley’s comet coming every 76 years. We get so excited here in L.A. because last week it was almost 90 degrees, such a dichotomy. From one extreme to the other!  It’s like the basic philosophy of Yin Yang

According to yin yang theory the universe and everything in it are both constant and cyclical. In this infinite cycle, one force dominates and then is replaced by the opposing force.  Kinda like EMOTIONS. (like that transition?)

Examples illustrating the yin yang philosophy include:

Life and death

Heaven and earth

Night and day

Dark and light

Health and sickness

Poverty and wealth

Spring to winter

Cold and hot

Positive and negative

This principle is that all things exist as inseparable and contradictory opposites, including our EMOTIONS! Whether you know it or not, YOU CONTROL what happens to you. Ok, maybe not WHAT happens but HOW you handle it appropriately and there-fore if you choose to NOT let it affect your day it might as well NOT have happened.

No, it’s not denial (that’s a river in Africa… sorry, couldn’t help it. )

It’s called state management, the ability to consistently manage your emotional states.

Here’s a simple 3-step strategy to make every one of your days amazing!


#1 – WHAT are you focusing on? In every moment you have the ability to CHOOSE what you pay attention to or not. And this is where we get confused. Just because its part of your Attention does not mean you have to give it your Intention

#2 – WHAT meaning do you give it? The meaning you place upon events will determine your behavior(s). We process all events through OUR filters and we all have different filters, so our meanings will be completely different.

#3 – WHAT actions do you take? Your actions / behaviors determine your results and are an accurate predictor of past and future behaviors.

So next time YOU get to decide whether you have a great day or not.

Remember you choose what you focus on and what meaning you place upon events and then can decide what actions you’ll take to ultimately shape your day AND the life you want live and not allow the circumstances to control YOUR future!

So, from this day forward, remember you have the power to CHOOSE how your day unfolds… and if you have the power to choose, CHOOSE WISELY!
